sandra pick of the bunch

Sandra says
Here is my fave layout
Not my best layout I have done, but I love the photos and the memories attached!
Garry hate the main photo.. but I love it... definetly not a posed photo!
journalling says
What could be better?
Fresh mandarins from our own tree and then seeing how far you can spit the pips.
Yep, must be a guy thing.
What a shot to catch DH smiling (nay, laughing) LOL
What a sense of humor. May have to get my DH to teach the kids to spit pips.

;)

what the....

curiosity has got the better of me.

I happened to have the camera in the car when I thought of this.

Just south of Wanilla is a tree on the roadside festooned with shoes.

What does this mean????

Is it some sort of secret meeting place for old and retired footwear?

Could it be the resting place for leather and synthetic foot ornaments?

Is there no meaning at all or something deep and profound?

And, most of all, who started it? Its been growing for a number of years.

This challenge sounded like fun so I thought I'd jump on board and join in !

1) Flowers : I couldn't choose between the following 3 !
Lavender, Frangipani & Wattle
This was from the Air Show in Cummins back in April (I don't seem to have any recent 'action shots'). They were so hard to catch up there in the sky ... a great way to get a stiff neck ! I got quite a few 'sky only' shots that day ! - I'd zoom in to take the photo and if they whizzed past too fast it was so hard to catch up with them again !
I quite liked this one of Charlie - we were out picking rocks and once the kids were sick of that job they went worm hunting (and founds heaps!). Here's Charlie hard at work studying a worm !
This was just a snap I took as I was catching up to the ute during a rock picking weekend back in June ... one of those accidental snaps that turn out OK.

It's taken in our back paddock on the edge of 'South Block' . The view is great from this paddock which made the job of rock picking a little easier ! ... The colours seem to blend into one another ... from the brown dirt to the green paddocks and trees ... the blue / grey hazy hills on the horizon and onto the blue sky (and with a ute / trailer / rocks and kids smack bang in the middle of it all - which is what I was taking the photo of in the first place !).

Marika's take on the challenge

LOVE love love the BW of your little one.

Challenge photos

Hi all,

I haven't had much time to take photos or even scrap lately so I have just pulled a couple off my camera, nothing very stunning and no early morning ones, getting kids ready for school then!! Maybe tomorrow morning before I head to work.

No 2: Sunset

No 3: Action ;-)

I know ... ha, ha, ha!! But every Tuesday and Thursday there is plenty of action on this spin cycle!!

No 4:

I have really enjoyed seeing everyones photos!!

I think I might have a challenge idea too but not sure who's turn it is next!!

bin snappin' a bit

caught some shots for the challenge.

the sunset is the same night as Paige's. Looks like the sky was on fire. The canola photo is the first one that has bloomed in the paddock.

hopefully Meredith and Amanda will upload theirs before tomorrow's new challenge!!

Maryanne's macro moment

snap.

the little hairy bits are so delicate. Very clean shot Maryanne. did u use the flower symbol on the dial or go onto manuel and fiddle a bit???

Tracey's snap

Sorry haven't had a chance to get camera out but have attached a photo from this summer of Georgia and a neighbouring dog in action. Georgie had just thrown the ball to him. I love the shot it involves action, sunset, silhouettes' and reflection all in one!

the water reflection is almost blinding but it does silhoutette Georgia beautifully.
Nearly looks like a black and white shot
well done.

STUNNING

omg Paige. this is just beautiful. Exactly what the sun challenge is about.

She says.

OMG most gorgeousest sunset tonight, then i remembered that it fit the challenge on ya blog and so i grabbed my camera and ran outside. It was beautiful, but very cold.

There was still frost on the ground when i was walking back from class at about 10:30!

raindrops are falling.....

Sandra caught this raindrop as it hit the puddle. Took lots of shots and a wet front to catch the shot. When one wants to capture a moment you dont buggerise around with details like putting a towel down to lie on before you settle in for some snapping in the rain. Apparently DH is a bit concerned for Sandra's welfare.

We're not. This is normal photographers frame of mind.

;-D

a bit of self promotion...

Just thought i might do a bit of promotion here for the Shabby Chic Shack (and myself!)

I will be running classes at Lock for both/either of these pages shown above on Friday the 29th of August. If anyone is interested in attending please contact Jo or Brigette from the Shabby Chic Shack. For their privacy as it is the www. i wont put their phone number up here - if you want to go and need their numbers please email me and i can send them to you.
(materials supplied in a kit for the cost of the class)
Obviously i had to 'borrow' a boy for my boy class example and according to my kids, Lachlan is my 'boyfriend' LOL.
I would love to see some familiar faces up there and i do know that they are having a very fabulous scrapbooker feature in a few months time. Keep your ear to the ground for that one ;-)

paige's pic

Pagie just emailed some pics of where she is studying atm. And guess what. One of them suits the macro challenge. The almond blossom is gorgeous and so crisp and clear. She really liked this particular area to study because it has wide open green places. parks and lawns. Paige needs her green space around her and by the looks of the pic, she got what she was after.

my turn

You girls are so impressive. With the flurry of photos coming in I felt shamed not getting onto mine sooner (not).
Was such a lovely day today with the sunlight so I trotted out while Sean was asleep.

The sun one is framed by the leaves and the old stables used before tractors were around.
The water droplet on the leaf is my macro moment.
The running water is my action one. Love the water around at the moment
My favourite would have to be the eye of my horse Jerry. I've posted a zoomed in version of his eye as you can see me in his reflection.

omg sandra

The lichen shot is outstanding. You really have nailed it with this one.
The orchid? is beautiful.
You are so loving your camera aren't you.

Faves from Lisa.

I can understand why Lisa couldn't pick just one. Loving the T monogram. The metallic butterfly and the word treasure in the same tones are perfect.

And Puppy Love. Just aaaawwwwww. Did u use a heart punch. Love chocolate tones. And the little puppy on the ribbon on the left side. so cute.

A couple from Sue

Well i am back from a week in Cairns, and you have all been busy on the blog!! - it took me all night to read what you been doing, great work everyone and you have all made me keen as to get to the scrapping table again!!

Looking at challenge 12 and my photos from Cairns i have some that can fit into the categories and i would like to share with you... no fancy camera here, just a point and shoot but using different settings etc...

The colours of the butterflies in FNQ are just brilliant, waiting for one to sit still for a photo is one hell of a challenge, but i was quite pleased with how this shot turned out...and using the macro setting blurs the background, focusing in on the subject nicely.

I love sunsets!! This one, is the boatshed at the wharf at Port Douglas, and i have used the giant fig tree to hide the glaring sun but captured the reflection across the water. One of my fav photos!

And the Zillie waterfalls, i love how the sun peeping through the top of the photo, giving the photo that misty look that you get at waterfalls.
