oh - what great ideas. That tree is really different!!
We also have baubles with each family member's name on them. I did them when we first got married and have added to them when babies or new pets arrive. It is lovely to pull them out of the decoration box each year and reflect. Particularly for our beautiful pets who are no longer with us. A nice keepsake and memory.
Annie has a very special bauble that has a bit of a story with it. It was given to her from good friends of ours when she was newborn. It is very very very fragile. In fact it took those friends three attempts to get one home from Adelaide in one piece. Needless to say it is packed with a lot of care each year. It is truly beautiful.
