Tracey said ...

Here are my photo challenges.
I went out at 4:56pm on the 7/8/09 and took photos of two giggling friends on the motorbike (checking to see if they are obeying the rules!!)

One child on the wall of the verandah awaiting her turn of the motorbike
and the remaining child manhandling the cat also waiting for her shot.

PS Sandra, yours is doing the driving, I hope you have nothing against motorbikes!!!
Great photos Tracey ... they really create a story ... can;t wait to see these scrapped!!

07.08.08 mini photo challenge ... Meredith

4.05 6 seconds on 07.08.09

Not a technically correct photo ... taken in the shade with an ISO of 1600 and a flash!!

But hey a different effect!! And how hard is it to get 4 kids to co-operate ... impossible!!

7.8.09 10.11am mini photo challenge ... Kylie

Here's a snap from this morning ... on 7/8/09 at 10:11:12am (well, probably not 12 seconds exactly!!)

Not very creative photography, just a photo of a typical morning in our household atm ... Bree still in her PJ's, Harry nursing our joey, fire going every day (not that you can see it in the photo - too much soot on the glass !!) ... and 2 missing - Ted at work and Charlie at school !

Kylie

Thank you Kylie for joining in ... I am going to do mine this afternoon ... at 4.56pm or 5.06pm!!

7.8.09 10.11am - mini photo challenge - amanda

Great memories Trish! I can only just remember watching Little house on the Prairie and i know that it was a fab show - each episode seemed to have a lovely moral.
i found this little snippet of Little house on youtube. And this is the opening title here. It certainly brings back memories!

Karen - Sue's sketch AND over photo text

Karen says :

Hi Amanda,
I do believe I have done a challenge!!! WHOO HOO...... and I think it could actually be two challenges in one. This is Sues Sketch challenge and also journaling on the photo. It has taken me nearly a week to produce! Yikes. You know that you cant rush these things, LOL.
Cheers
Karen D

I do believe you have used that photo that i totally LOVE Karen........one taken at the 2008 E2C retreat i think??!!! I was blown away by your talent way back then and i see nothing has changed. Loved squinting and trying to read all your 'bits'. They made me laugh!

Great job and the paper choices are beautiful.

The numbers aligning ... mini photo challenge

After reading about this idea here

I thought hey we could do that ... obviously in America they put the month then the date where as we put the date then the month so they did this in July!!

So tomorrow it is 07.08.09 but just to give you some choice you could do it at any of these times to keep the numbers aligned!! I don't think we'll get too fussed about the seconds!!

05.06 am ... I don't think so!! as in 05.06am on 07.08.09

or
10.11 am as in 10.11am on 07.08.09

or
4.56 pm as in 4.56pm on 07.08.09

So take a photo of something, anything at one of these times!!

And hey we can do it again next year on 08.09.10!!!

Marika - photo text

Now i can come out of our 'crisis stay in one room and lock all the doors' situation here at home i can show you the page Marika sent me earlier.

This is for the text on top of the photo challenge and she has really nailed this one! I love absolutely everything about it - and am loving your etsy purchases with those journalling spots. Brilliant!!!

The text you have inserted onto the photo is excellent! Well done and i hope you have encouraged a few more to try it out. Marika used the computer for this one - you can also use pen and handwrite, journalling strips, sticker letters or anything else you like as long as it is ON the photo.

Fab work!

Jane - photo challenge

Hi Amanda,

hope this works.....
am loving this flash back to the 70s and 80s - era of big hair, ra-ra skirts (I never had one of those) fluoro T-shirts....

I also loved The Wombles (have it on DVD), the Goodies......., ABBA, New Kids On The Block, I even went and saw them in concert and even have their latest album on the ipod !!! ....bit sad really... cant really call them "New Kids" anymore though -they are more like "Middle-Aged Men On The Block"
Ahh Roxette - loved them too... I had front row seats for that concert...

But thought I would send a few different piccys through...

I was in lust with Tom Cruise in the movie Top Gun. This is the poster I had on my bedrom wall,

Who could forget The Famous Five books by Enid Blyton - Julian, Dick, Anne, George(ina) and Timmy the dog....I loved these books and also loved the TV series

Anne Of Green Gables was another fave...I still have my Mum's copy of the book and mine too. I also loved mini series when it came out when I was older.....

Adidas Romes - we used to wear these at Naracoorte High School for DPA (daily Physical Activity) everyday and PE. These were THE coolest shoes (besides our Desert boots) but you had to have the "proper" Romes....and yes I did have a pair. God I loved those shoes....Funny, I was only talking to someone about "Romes" the other day and she said the same thing..

Ahhh the memories......
Jane P
Thanks Jane - what great memories! I had a big giggle at the Romes - i had a pair too and they were my absolute pride and joy. I can just see me now in those harry high pants and the socks worn bunched on the outside of the jean leg. Too funny!

Michelle - photo challenge

Hi Amanda

Here are my entries in this month's photo challenge

Duran Duran
My favourite band besides ABBA who are an equal first. Just loved Jon Taylor so much I had huge posters on my wall of him and had all their records.

ABBA
As mentioned above, very close, I could actually say equal first, in fav's. My mum even has a tape recording of my sister's and I singing ABBA songs when I was around 6 years old. Still love them today.

Dukes of Hazzard
Who didn't love them? Crazy and funny show but still a goody to me. John Schneider (Bo) was my fav but very close to Tom (Luke).

Countdown
This was a treasure of a program to watch when it was on. Always caught up with the latest band and or video release during the time.

Books - the same as Sandra - Trixie Belden - so I won't repeat here.

Dolly Magazine
Especially when I hit the teenage years. This became the bible of how to look in the teenage years - Vain, shallow - yep, but then again I just joined in with many other teenage girls then.

The list can go on - Who's the Boss, 902010, Love Boat.......

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Michelle

Great job Michelle! I can definately identify with the Dolly magazine and Countdown but wasn't really into the others much. Thanks for sending them in and giving us a look into your past! It seems we are all pretty much thinking / brainstorming along the same lines!

Amanda - colour challenge

Karen - photo challenge

Hi Amanda,
As I was doing this challenge I thought "Gee it looks like all I did was watch TV!" I did read alot, I was going to put Trixie Belden up there but thought I'd stick a few different ones in.

1. I loved Dr. Who, sorry if its a bit nerdy!! Never liked the new stuff, has to be the original!

2. I loved "The Wombles", this may be where my love of stop animation comes from.

3. The Goodies rule!! these guys were SO clever, I have bought a few DVD packs and my kids now watch them and roar with laughter!!

4. Weren't Smurfs so cute, we used to take them to school and all play with them in the playground making houses for them, this photo is of my Smurfs that I had WAY back, some a bit worse for wear, but I still have them!

Im loving seeing what everyone else is posting, such a fun trip down memory lane!!!
Cheers
Karen D

Fab Karen! Love your smurf photo!! Brilliant! And omg i was the biggest Goodies fan too. They still make me laugh!
As for stop motion - if anyone is wondering what that is check out what Clair Bremner made (yes that very clever girl has done this as well)
Basically it is taking a whole heap of photos and stringing them together to make an animated video. The amount of photos is often in the high hundreds just to make a 3 minute movie.
very clever stuff.
Thanks for sharing Karen!

August sketch challenge

Fianlly finally i am sitting down and scrapping.....

.... here is my sketch challenge for this month. It is optional to use one or two photos, i love to use a couple photos on my pages to help capture the story or moment, but as i said it is optional.
Hopefully i will see some buttons or brads, and some ribbon

Here is my example:

Hope you all have fun with it and i look forward to seeing your layouts!!

Marika - photo challenge

Marika's blast from the past:

1. Roxette: Loved this band had both of their albums

2. I watched this first at about 11 and still love it now can't wait til molly is alittle older to watch it.

3. I had everyone of these books that I loved, mum has them can't wait til molly is a bit older I hope she loves them too.

4. Just loved this show as a reception child spent many hours pretending to be princess does anyone else remember.

Well done Marika - yeah we loved Roxette in this house too, still gets us all into song. And Rachel loved the Baby Sitters books too.....now i am showing my age!! eeek

Marika's- pinwheel challenge

Marika is quick off the mark, she says:

My page for the pinwheel challenge hope it is right I didn't look at the instructions. Pretty basic page and two years behind Noah is nearly 3 will get there one day.

Wow Marika love this, those papers are gorgeous and loving your free-hand doodle around the inner edge....and the pinwheel is just perfect, looks great!!
