'beautiful Friend' mini album

Here's a peek at the mini album i made for Lorrae's birthday, as i promised earlier. It's mainly chipboard with a transparency cover.

Used some new Bella papers that i got from Scrapworkz - nice and bright papers, really suits Lorrae - she is so lovely and bright.

Sandra's "showed" up

Sandra, did u change the photo to monochromatic when printing to get the blue tones. Love it. Fits in with PP really well. Loving the tape measure.
She says Here is the layout that is going to be entered into the show... hopefully tucked away in the corner!
This layout was inspired by a layout by Jane Jones.. I just tweaked it a bit.

(lol wasn't going to enter anything into the show... but seeing as I haven't missed a challenge yet............not going to miss one now!)
onya chickie. Hopefully we'll have lots of 'newbies' at the scrap section this year.

challenge 18

rito chickies. Time to enter and strut ya stuff.

create a LO or OTP to suit one of the categories in the Cummins Show and enter it. They will take your entries this Friday up to 9pm.

So, get those creative juices flowing and give it a shot.

Remember if no one enters anything, then there wouldn't be a show.... would there!!!!
Amanda is away this week so if u would like your creations on the blog email them to me. Addy's on top right of screen
Cheers Chickies

When it's summer time

Finally i have completed a challenge too. Here is my page for challenge 18.

I used sketch No. 103 of Ayako Katayama, from pencil lines - which this is my first visit to this site before and it is VERY inspiring!!!

and with the 'orange' element added to the challenge, it was ideal for my summer time/ sun setting type of photo. You wouldn't beleive i took these photos last summer, and was planning to scrap them at LAST years retreat!! I do get around to them eventually!!!

Because the layout was already 'thought out' for me, i had fun experimenting with new techniques for me, like paint rings, using the co-ordinations cardstock - srunching and sanding it, as well as playing with different fonts.

Good Challenge Amanda!!

Tracey's all motivated

Tracey says Here is my layout for the most recent challenge. This is taken from the same sketch as Amanda used. Sketch 98 I think, I used the left hand side of the double layout but reversed the sides (that probably makes no sense whatsoever) Anyhow having recently got back from a few days in the Flinders this challenge got me motivated. This was a whoopsy photo David took that I just adore as Charlotte was in the best cheeky mood and on the run when he took the shot.
This is just great Tracey. It is really great to see you using your handwriting on there. In years to come your kids will treasure this as it makes the LO more personal to them.

Look how this girl is blooming!

Sandra has excelled with her latest effort. Totally WOW chook. I really can't believe how far you have come ...i love everything you have done with this page! The bird rub ons, the circle with the clusters of three brads/diamontes, the cluster down the bottom, the scalloped teal and of course those great photos taken at funky angles.
How gorgeous is that girl of yours too? So caring and thoughtful!
This sketch is taken from pencil lines and is number 104 by Dawn Inskip.
Well done chook! I reckon a 3/3 for this effort! (orange, sketch from pencil lines and obscure photo/s)
woohoo!

woohoo

my first completed challenge for quite a while. Was a bit like pulling teeth as i haven't scrapped for ages.............

click on the image if you want to see any details.

I adapted this sketch to fit my workspace. Sketch 98 from www.pencillines.com by Anna Bowkis

PS. Karen D if you are reading this i bought 'twilight' today....but it has to get in line as i still have a stack of books yet to read!

OMG we have created a monster!

Make way for the pencillines addict LOL.

Marika has certainly been making a dent in her scrap supplies here! I cannot believe how many pages this chook is pumping out! AMAZING!

Most of these pages will be only one pointers - by using pencillines as a sketch/LO idea but i do think there are a few two pointers by using some glimpses of orange in there!

As Marika has shown here, using sketches is a great way to get inspired and work quickly through your photos without being bogged down with designing ideas.

These are all fabulous Marika - i particularly love the blues and greens in the Noah page. Also love the torn square of spotty paper in the 'brothers' page - too yummy!

2 out of 3.

2 out of 3 aint bad.
base the LO on a pencillines sketch, orange and obscure photo.

I used sketch 74 by Kerry Lyn, I reckon the photo is obscure and not a bit of orange anywhere. It just would go with the PP so I didn't worry about it.

ideas all around

while in Target last week I snapped a couple of shots of kids shirts that I found appealing, either in colour or mostly in what it said. The staff were looking at me a bit strangely, but who cares, they mustn't be scrappers to see the merit in what i was doing.

there is also a snap of a young lady's shirt (she will recognise herself I'm sure) of the detail of her logo, IE the stitching.

I'm not sure how the quality of the shots will turn out as I was using the camera on my phone which is not fantastic, its is primarily a phone after all.

just goes to show if u look around there are ideas everywhere, you just need to be open to them and have your phone camera handy!!!!

Kaye drops in

A big rousing welcome to Kaye B. Fabo to see you here at long last and yes I'll help you work out how to comment. try this.
scroll to bottom of this post and click on 'comment'
a pop up screen will appear with a text box.
type in your comment, make sure you leave your name with your comment (so we know who is saying what)
click on anonymous.
Publish your comment

Perhaps we should have this on the right side of the screen all the time!!!!

Kaye has sent me a pic of her personal space. Just fantastic to see the sewing machine out as well.

So glad to see you here chick.

send us some pics of your LO's that fit any of the challenges we've had!!!!

only orange

only 1 point for me. no sketch lift and not obscure in my opinion. But thought I'd post it to keep the blog ticking along.
the pp is K&Co Miranda Golden Swirl mounted on white Bazzil. Rose leaves and orange blossom are prima, the white hydrangas are bumble bee and the glitter brad is MM, the alphas are AC rubons.
tfl

Double delight

Maryanne has another digi for us to check out.
she says : have just quickly done another orange digital LO don't have to put on the blog if you don't want to, don't want to take over the blog just with my stuff.I have lifted[sort of] from a LO from designer digitals.cheers
ha ha ha Maryanne. If we didn't put on every one's LO it would be a very boring blog indeed. No matter how many you do in a challenge, you'll email em, we'll post em.
this is the sketch Maryanne used.
and this is the gorgeous creation Maryanne has come up with. Love the stitching effect and the string bow in the center of the blue bloom.

1 point chick. For the orange.
Perhaps Amanda might like to explain her meaning of obscure.
Mine interpretation is a photo that's a bit of a boo boo but can still be used IE out of focus, not centered, not quite 'right'.

2 points for Maryanne!

Wow this girl wastes no time at all *insert eye bulging*

Off to a very quick start, her entry was based on the Becky Higgins sketch (no. 100) and based on this page shown below.....

this is Maryannes take on it - orange and based from www.pencillines.com gives her 2 points! I can't give her the third point as pixie photos dont count as obscure LOL. (as cutie patootie as tiny Brad is!)

I really love the orange here - and can people see the bubble wrap stamp effect on the background sheet???? Looks fantastic. (Please scroll down to the bottom of this escape blog for a bit more bubble wrap fun LOL) Also love how you have brought in the green and blue to give the whole page a bit more zest with colour. Fantastic interpretation here Maryanne!

Thanks for showing us!

Challenge 18

Tiff is away for the day, Meredith is away for the week, not sure what Sue magoo is up to (LOL at rhyme)

soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the next challenge is something to do with October.

When i think of October and scrapbooking - i think ORANGE.

Mainly for the halloween type of reasoning (not that i am big on halloween or anything)

so this week scrap a page with ORANGE on it for one point.

scrap a page with ORANGE on it and use a sketch from http://www.pencillines.com/ for two points

scrap a page with ORANGE on it, use a sketch from http://www.pencillines.com/ and use an obscure photos for three points.

see how you go with thatand try and rack up as many points as you can! :)

not sure how long this challenge will go for - a week-ish.

Sorry things on here have been slow. Just busy and trying to promote the retreat as much as we can by keeping those posts on the top (newest)

An Update on the Retreat

Just to let everyone know - the retreat is FULLY BOOKED OUT.

We are still taking names though for those on the waiting list. We have already had a drop out so someone who was lucky enough to be on the waiting list got that free spot. As with all things, situations crop up and people are no longer able to attend.

If you would like to attend our retreat but missed out please forward your name and details to Tiff (email address on sidebar) and she will pop you on the waiting list.

Of course there are no guarantees but you will be in the best position to slot into a space should one become available.

The response has been quite mind blowing for all of us organizers.....we thought it would be booked fast but all gone in two days is just - wow!

Because our 50 spots have been all taken, there will be NO DAY TRIPPERS. The girls who have registered are all weekenders and so no spots will be open to day trippers. Tis limit of 50 is due to space constrictions and the number that we think we can handle successfully in our venue.

Also note that IT IS NOT AN EXPO. There is no entry for the man on the street to peruse, shop and scrap for a few hours. If your name is not on our list of attendees (and we know who is just by looking) you will be asked to leave.

Again it has been an amazing response. Thankyou all who have been so supportive. What a wonderful weekend we are going to have!

I am still alive ...

Hi all,

Apologies for my lack of posts lately, I have been looking at all the great work!! I was really sick last weekend with the flu (I suppose that was what it was!!) and still haven't really recovered along with the rest of the house being sick before and after!!

I just found something that might interest you. It is along the lines of Tiff's layout that she did for the "work" layout challenge (can't see it any more 'cause it was accepted!!!).

Any way follow this link and have a read ... would love to see what anyone comes up with. If you take photos maybe you could do a page or put them on your blog or send them in!!!

http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/2008/09/weekend-creat-3.html

Ali Edwards is one great American scrapper who gives lots of inspiring ideas.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the school holidays!!

first digi.........card

my first digi card with Paige having some input as well.

Kate V has turned 18 and is having a bit of a bash on Saturday night.

Paige stayed with us last night (hi chicky xx) and we have decided on Kate's pressie from both our families so we combined on making Kate a special card.

So with a bit of fiddling, actions, brushes and a lot of giggling we came up with this. Paige finished her bit last night, and I have just finished my bit.

Added a rub on seal on the back and a bit of ribbon and ta da here it is.

hope Kate doesn't lurk here before her party Sat nite

;D

judy's still flat out creating

wow judy. when u scrap, you power scrap. well done chick. happy holidays.

amanda's new bits

LOL this week i have actually done a lot of new things scrapping wise.

I have made an album (finally) of Meredith and my trip to Melbourne and the Scraptacular retreat. It is the first time i have used a digital brush in a mini album (the flourish strip). I simply cut a bit of striped patterned paper and popped it in the centre of the brush. I got the brush free at jessica sprague's blog and basically copied her design so i cannot take much credit at all i am afraid. You can download the brushes from here -
They are just lovely and i only use photoshop so i have no idea if they are compatable with any other programs.
You can see the rest of my mini album here as i have a lot of pages and wont hog all the space on this blog.
Meredith, Sue and I have also been working on a little project which i cannot divulge as it is retreat related, it is new to us all and is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute that we know that you will love them as much as we do. Unfortunately Tiff was too sick to join us so we hope she gets better soon.
all very hush hush LOL
Another new thing is my class layout for Shabby Chic Shack - i have finished it and am waiting on approval from Jo and Brigette before I can show and start getting people interested in an October-ish class.
I better go get ready for work. Apologies for lack of comments on other's work from myself. I will certainly try and get back in here and comment on everyone's new work - it has been fantastic!!!

Lost in space

ta da. Sandra has her very own creative studio (LOL) at last. lots of space, shelves, window and a reverse cycle a/c.

I can see Sandra hitting her stride and power scrapping into the wee hours.

well done chick. cleaned up really well..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!

power scrapping

another from Lisa. you sure are on a roll chick.

she says :

OK, what's new - First ever people-free LO, first time using these Alphas (Scrappy Bizz Tag Alphas, ProvoCraft Bradletz, Pressed Petals Scrap Metal Alphas) have had them all in my stash for ages. Sanded the photo but this time I chalked the sanded area - looks quite effective. Also sanded the silver alphas and the silver brads and chalked the paw print twill to give it an aged look.
Still need to do some journalling which will go on a tag under the main photo. Based on a sketch from the Scrapchat Forum.

what's new with Lisa??

there are lots of new things on this for me.........stamping, LO of my Brother, the hinges and pull tabs

Check out those hinges. From reading Lisa's blog I know she made them from a plastic milk container. How enterprising is that.
totally awesome stuff Lisa. so much detail.
check out Lisa's blog. link is on the right side of screen, just scroll down to you find it in the 'inspiration' list

Denise is here

whoooo hoooo Denise. Well done. Denise is now an official e2c blogger. she has sent me her lo to post all by herself (that means she has mastered how to email me her pics to be posted.) all u have to do know chick is start leaving lots of comments on everyone else's work and keep letting us know you've been by leaving your name when you comment.
